Both runs were scored by Ansley Brantley (SR/Kite, Ga.) with the help of Alex Richardson (JR/Ten Mile, Tenn.) in the first and third innings.

In the first, Brantley connected for a single and went on to steal second. Danielle Tyson (SO/Smithville, Tenn.) sacrificed the bunt to advance Brantley to third. Brantley scored on a fielder's choice put into play by Richardson to put the first run on the board, 1-0.

Brantley walked in the third but the Yellowjackets pitched strategically in anticipation of the steal so Tyson sacrificed the bunt once again to get Brantley in scoring position. She made her way to third on a wild pitch and tagged back to score on a SAC fly from Richardson, 2-0.

Cedarville set up two scoring opportunities, one in the fourth and one in the seventh. With the bases loaded and one out in the top of the fourth, Haley Fagan (SR/Cornersville, Tenn.) threw two strikeouts to shut the Jackets down. A one-out triple from CU was trouble in the seventh but after a meeting in the circle, Fagan responded by striking out the next batter. Caitlyn Hudgins (FR/Springfield, TN) made the ground out unassisted for game over.

Great defensive play behind the leading of Fagan's 10 K's allowed the Trojans to keep Cedarville scoreless through all seven innings.
