Trevecca won both of their games on the opening day of the 2016 G-MAC Championships at the Athletes in Action Complex. Trevecca outscored their two opponents 25-1.Â

TNU will face #4 Cedarville University (27-27, 16-12 G-MAC) Friday, April 29 at 11 am CT. TNU is 19-1 versus Cedarville all-time including a sweep of this season's series, a four game shutout. Haley Fagan (SR/Cornersville, Tenn.) pitched a no-hitter in game one of the series.

The Trojans are now 13-0 all-time at the G-MAC tournament. The Trojans are 30-3 in their last 33 games. All three losses were by one run and two were in extra innings.

Trevecca is 10-1 versus Davis & Elkins all-time. The Trojans are on a four-game win streak in the series. The last and only win for D&E in the series came in the first game of this season's regular season series, a 11-inning one run victory.

TNU was designated the visiting team by way of coin toss. Davis & Elkins plated the first run of the game in the bottom of the first. The first seven runs for TNU were the result of home runs. The Trojans added two more runs in the top of the sixth for an eight run difference and held D&E scoreless through the bottom to cut the game short at six innings.Â

After D&E scored the run in the first, Ansley Brantley (SR/Kite, Ga.), Kaitlin Crumpler (JR/Smyrna, Tenn.) and Catilyn Hudgins turned a double play. Â

A trio of singles led off by Shelby Andrews (SR/Dyersburg, Tenn.) loaded the bases for Jordan Griner (SR/Mulberry, Tenn.) in the top of the second. She swung on a 1-1 pitch and hit it out of the park beyond the left center fence for a grand slam to give TNU the lead, 4-1.

Andrews caused more damage in the top of the third with a two-run homer driving in Alex Richardson (JR/Ten Mile, Tenn.) who singled prior. Caitlyn Hudgins (FR/Springfield, TN) followed with a solo home run off the first pitch thrown to her for a 7-1 TNU lead.Â

Ansley Brantley took a ball to the head to earn a free pass to first and made it count by stealing second. She scored on a Danielle Tyson (SO/Smithville, Tenn.) single. Tyson scored on a dropped fly at second to make the final 9-1.Â

Three Trojans were 2-3 at the plate, Andrews, Hudgins and Collins. Griner had four RBI with her grand slam. Andrews had two runs and two RBI. Huggins had two runs and one RBI.Â

Haley Fagan (32-11) pitched all six innings for her 27th complete game of the season. She marked four K's in the scorebook, walked one and let one run on three hits in 20 batters faced.Â

Haley Fagan's 32 wins this season is the fourth most in program history. Only Brittiany Johnson has produced more wins in a season. Johnson pitched three years and had a 42, 39, and a 35 win season.

The win is also her 71th career win. Fagan is now 71-23 and is second on the all-time wins list.

The 41 wins are the most for a Trojan team since the 2011 team collected 48 wins. It is the second 40-win season in a row and the fourth in eight years for head coach Ben Tyree. In addition to last year's 40 wins and the 2011 team's 48 wins, the 2010 team won 44 games. It is the seventh 40-win season in the last 11 years for Trevecca softball program. The 2007 team, led by Ernie Reynolds, tops the list with 59 wins.

Trevecca is 82-8 in official G-MAC regular season and postseason games. During the regular season Trevecca is 69-8 in G-MAC play. At the G-MAC postseason championship, Trevecca is 13-0.
