Box Score 2 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (37-15, 21-3 G-MAC) swept a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) double header against Alderson Broaddus University (13-32, 6-19 G-MAC), 10-2 and 11-1 on Friday at the Trojan Softball Complex. The wins give Trevecca the outright regular-season G-MAC championship for the fourth consecutive year. The Trojans are now the top seed at next week's 2016 G-MAC Championships at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes complex in Xenia, Ohio.

Trevecca is the only team to win the regular season or postseason G-MAC Championship.

Trevecca is now 8-1 all-time versus the Battlers. The Trojans are on a seven game win streak in the series.

Trevecca is 78-8 in official G-MAC regular season and postseason games. During the regular season Trevecca is 67-8 in G-MAC play. At the G-MAC postseason championship, Trevecca is 11-0.

Including non-conference meetings, Trevecca is 82-12 all-time versus the current members of the G-MAC conference. That total includes non-conference and postseason meetings. Trevecca will conclude their regular season a double header against Alderson Broaddus University at the Trojan Softball Complex on Saturday, Aprile 23rd at 11AM. There will be a celebration for the four seniors (Ansley Brantley (SR/Kite, Ga.), Jordan Griner (SR/Mulberry, Tenn.), Haley Fagan (SR/Cornersville, Tenn.), and Shelby Andrews (SR/Dyersburg, Tenn.)) following the double header.

The Trojans were 11-12 after their first 23 games, but have gone 26-3 since. All three losses were by one run and two were in extra innings.

The visitors struck first with a run in the top of the first for a 1-0 advantage.

Their lead held until the Trojans took the lead with a four-run second. Caitlyn Hudgins singled with one out in the second. Mary Collins (FR/Collierville, TN) drew a walk. Jordan Griner singled to drive in Hudgins. Kat Burbrink (SO/Hamilton, Ohio) singled to load the bases for Kaitlin Crumpler (JR/Smyrna, Tenn.). The second baseman doubled, clearing the bases and putting the Trojans up 4-1.

The Battlers cut the Trojan lead to 4-2 with a run in the third, but that would be the last run for ABU.

Trevecca exploded with six runs in the fifth to force the run-rule into play with two outs in the fifth.

Haley Fagan improved to 27-11 on the year with a complete game victory. In five innings, the two-time G-MAC pitcher of the year, allowed three hits, two walks, two runs – one earned, and sat down seven on strikes.

Eight different Trojans hit safely in the game. Kaitlin Crumpler went 2-3 at the plate with five RBI and a double. Shelby Andrews went yard and scored a run and drove in two with her blast. The Battlers scored in the top of the first again for a 1-0 lead.

Trevecca did not wait as long this time, they struck for five in the bottom of the first for a 5-1 lead.

Trevecca scored one in the second and then erased all doubt with a five-run third and a 11-1 run.

After collecting 13 hits in the opener the Trojans added 11 more in game two. ABU managed three hits and neither team committed an error.

Haley Fagan moved to 28-11 on the year with three and two thirds of an inning. Fagan allowed three hits and gave up just one run while walking two and striking out three. Morgan Powell (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) pitched one and a third of perfect softball in the circle.

Ansley Brantley was 0-0, but scored three times, stole a base, with a walk and reached on a hit-by-pitch three times. Tana Whited (FR/Lebanon, TN) was 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Shelby Andrews was 1-2 with a run scored and two RBI. Jordan Griner was 2-2 with a double, a run scored and two RBI. Caitlyn Hudgins went 2-2 with a run scored, a double, a walk, and four RBI.
