Box Score 2 CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University (12-12, 4-0 G-MAC) baseball team defeated Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) foe Cedarville University (3-14, 0-4 G-MAC) twice on Saturday at Yellow Jacket Field. The Trojans won 10-2 in the opener and 16-2 in the series finale.

In game two, Trevecca scored nine in the top of the ninth and then ended the game with a triple-play in the bottom of the ninth.

In the four-game series Bryson Shelton (JR/Powell, TN) went 12-19 at the plate with eight scored runs, eight RBI, a double, a triple, two walks, four stolen bases, and a sacrifice fly.

Trevecca extended their winning streak to eight in the series and are now 20-4 versus the Yellow Jackets in the NCAA Division II era.

Trevecca will host the University of North Alabama (15-12) on Tuesday at 5 PM. The Trojans are 3-12-2 against the Lions since 2002. UNA has won two in a row in the series .TNU defeated the Lions 5-2 in a 2014 meeting at Jackson Field. The teams will play again this year on April 26 in Florence.

GAME ONE RECAP
 Each team scored a run in the first before Trevecca took a 3-2 lead with a 2-1 edge in scoring in inning two.

In the game-deciding second, Chad Sutton (SO/Independence, MO) reached on a hit-by-pitch and then stole second with one out. Carter Wiseman (SO/Hendersonville, TN) walked. Ethan Harrison (FR/Erlanger, KY) reached on a fielder's choice that forced Sutton out at third. Tyler Tichenor (SR/Centertown, KY) followed with an RBI-single that scored Wiseman. Micah Blount (SR/Birmingham, AL) singled to score Harrison and put the Trojans up 3-2, a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the way.

Wiseman struck out, but reached on a wild pitch to lead off the inning. Harrison and Tichnor followed with singles to load the bases. An out later Bryson Shelton doubled scoring two. Zach Tompkins (SR/Mt. Juliet, TN) singled next to drive in two more.

Tyler Tichenor was 3-4 with two runs scored, three RBI, a stolen base, and a walk. Ethan Harrison, Micah Blount, Bryson Shelton, and Zach Tompkins all had two-hit games. Harrison scored twice. Blount had two RBI. Shelton chipped in a run, two RBI, a double, and a stolen base. Tompkins drove in two runs, had a stolen base, and had a double. Carter Wiseman was 0-1 but walked twice, stole a base, and reached on a hit-by-pitch and scored three times.

Ivey Starling (SR/Brentwood, TN) started and pitched six innings for the win to improve to 3-3 on the year. He allowed three this and two runs – one earned. He had four walks and strikeouts. Jackson Bryant (FR/Hendersonville, TN) pitched the seventh and allowed just one walk.

Trevecca opened game two with a three- run top of the first inning. Tyler Tichenor reached on a fielder's choice that forced Ethan Harrison, who led off the game reaching on a hit-by-pitch, out at second. Micah Blount singled and then advanced, along with Tichenor, up a bag on a double steal. Bryson Shelton continued his hot bat with an RBI-single that scored Tichenor. A balk moved Shelton up a bag and scored Blount from third. Shelton stole third and then an out later scored on a RBI-sing from Chad Sutton.

Cedarville scored two in the bottom of the second for 3-2 TNU lead.

Trevecca added two in the top of the third for a 5-2 advantage. With an out in the Trojan third Tyler Burns (SO/Tullahoma, TN) reached on an error and then advanced to second on a passed ball. Chad Sutton drew a walk before Clay Staton (JR/Franklin, TN) singled to load the bases. Ryan Arington (JR/Cincinnati, OH) singled to drive in Burns and Sutton. ÂÂ

Trevecca scored a single run in the fifth and sixth innings. In the fifth Clay Staton tripled to lead off the inning and then scored on a RBI-single from Ryan Arington. The run in the sixth inning materialized after Chad Sutton singled up the middle with one gone in the inning. Sutton moved to second on a wild pitch. Clay Staton reached on a hit-by- pitch to put two on for Ryan Arington. Arington reached on a fielder's choice that forced Staton out at second, but moved Sutton to third. Sutton scored on a wild pitch to Carter Wiseman.

Neither team scored again until the ninth when the Trojans opened up the floodgates with a 9-run inning. ÂÂ

Then ninth opened in an unassuming way with Micah Blount grounding out to the short stop. Bryson Shelton singled before six consecutive Trojans walked (Tyler Burns, Chad Sutton, Clay Staton, Ryan Arington, Carter Wiseman, and Ethan Harrison). The walk to Sutton loaded the bases and then the next four forced in a run. The walk to Harrison made the score 11-2. Tyler Tichenor singled to drive in two more runs for a 13-2 Trojan lead. Micah Blount singled to drive in a run and a 14-2 TNU lead. Bryson Shelton singled for the second time in the inning just before a double by Tyler Burns scored two more for a 16-2 Trevecca lead.

Sutton scored three times and had two walks. Staton had a triple, reached on a walk and a hit-by-pitch while scoring twice and driving in a run.

Jon Newman (SO/Gilbert, SC) started for the Trojans and picked up with win to improve to 2-0 on the year. Newman pitched six innings and allowed five hits and two runs – both unearned, and had three strikeouts.
