NASHVILLE, Tenn. - In a short trip to Memphis on Wednesday, the Trevecca softball team (20-12, 4-0 G-MAC) grabbed a pair of non-conference wins at Christian Brothers University (6-27, 2-16 GSC). They took both games run rule style, the first in six innings 9-1, the second in five, 13-1.

The Trojans have won their last nine games and 12 of their last 13. The only loss in that stretch is a 6-5 loss to Lee University. Six of the last seven wins ended as a result of the run-rule being put into effect. The Trojans have outscored their opponents 80-5 in their last eight games.

The Trojans are 5-2 against CBU since 2013. After falling in the first two meetings in the NCAA Division II era, the Trojans have won the last five in the series.

Trevecca hosts another Great Midwest Athletic Conference opponent on Friday when Davis & Elkins College comes for a visit. The teams will play two on Friday beginning at 1 PM and then again on Saturday starting at 11 AM. Trevecca is 6-0 versus the Senators all-time.

The Trojans only have three home series remaining. Trevecca hosts Kentucky Wesleyan for two on March 30th, but won't play at home again until they host their final series with Alderson Broaddus University visiting on April 22-23.

GAME ONE

Ansley Brantley (SR/Kite, Ga.) set the tone for the game with a lead off solo home run. TNU took the lead, 1-0.

In the second inning, Mary Collins (FR/Collierville, TN) connected for a lead off double. She advanced to third and scored on wild pitches to increase the Trojan lead, 2-0.

Christian Brothers plated their only run, 1-2, in the bottom of the second inning off of two hits.

Danielle Tyson (SO/Smithville, Tenn.) pinch hit for Tana Whited (FR/Lebanon, TN) and hit a single up the middle. She stole second and made her way to third when the throw got away in attempt to catch her. She ran home on a Shelby Andrews (SR/Dyersburg, Tenn.) bunt single. Caitlyn Hudgins (FR/Springfield, TN) powered a home run down the left line to drive in Andrews ahead of her. Mary Collins fired off a solo home run to put TNU up, 6-1. 

In the top of the fourth, Brantley hit a lead off single and went on to steal second and third. Alex Richardson (JR/Ten Mile, Tenn.) hit a single to send Brantley in, 7-1. 

After a scoreless fifth inning, Brantley reached on a drop third strike. She stole second and made her way to third on a wild pitch before Shelby Andrews connected for a double to bring in Brantley as well as Tyson who walked prior. TNU increased their lead to 9-1 and held the Buccaneers through the bottom of the sixth to end the game, run rule style. 

Mary Collins was 2-for-2 with two runs, one RBI and one walk. Ansley Brantley was 2-for-4 with three runs, three stolen bases and one RBI. Shelby Andrews was 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Danielle Tyson was 1-for-2 with two runs, two stolen bases and one walk. 

Haley Fagan (SR/Cornersville, Tenn.) (13-8) pitched five innings with three strikeouts, walked two and let one run on four hits. Sammie Jo Ivy (SO/Enville, Tenn. ) pitched one inning, walked one and let one hit.
