NASHVILLE, Tenn. - In the first of a three game weekend series Bellarmine University, the Trevecca Nazarene University Trojan baseball team (6-7) lost a 5-1 nine-inning game against the Knights (5-6). 

Both teams will be back at it on Jackson Field with a double header scheduled to start at 12 PM on Saturday. (WATCH LIVE)

Bellarmine scored twice in the third and one run apiece in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings while TNU scored their lone run in the seventh.

Micah Blount (SR/Birmingham, AL) took a base on balls to lead off the seventh for Trevecca. Two more walks, Tompkins and Burns, followed to put Blount a base away from home plate. A Chad Sutton (SO/Independence, MO) sacrifice fly gave Blount the time he needed to score the only Trojan run. 

Ethan Harrison (FR/Erlanger, KY) had the only Trojan hit to Bellarmine's 11. Zach Tompkins (SR/Mt. Juliet, TN) walked three times. 

Bryan Smith (JR/Unionville, TN) pitched six innings after starting on the bump for the Trojans. Smith (1-3) collected five strikeouts and gave up three runs on eight hits with no walks. Jesse Peters (FR/Loveland, OH) pitched the last three letting two runs on three hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
