Box Score OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (11-12, 6-2 G-MAC) visited NCAA D2 No. 18 Kentucky Wesleyan College (21-3, 7-1 G-MAC) at the Sportscenter in a battle of two of the three teams tied atop the Great Midwest Athletic Conference standings. KWC won 70-59. Â

Trevecca will host Alderson Broaddus University (15-6, 6-1 G-MAC), the other team tied for the G-MAC lead going into tonight's play, on Thursday at 8 PM. Senior day is Saturday when Davis & Elkins College (9-13, 3-5 G-MAC) visits for a 4 PM contest.

Kentucky Wesleyan leads the all-time series 5-2. The Panther win breaks a five-game win steak for the Trojans and a two-game win streak for the Trojans in the series. KWC pushes their win streak to six.

Both teams came into the game with a five-game winning streak. KWC had not lost since losing at Trevecca on Jan. 25 and TNU had not lost a game since losing at ABU on Jan. 16th. When Trevecca defeated KWC in the first meeting, the Panthers were also ranked No. 18 and had won six in a row. So, the Panthers have won 12 of the last 13 and their only loss is to Trevecca in that time.

Trevecca scored the first basket and then the game was tied at 4-4. KWC went on a role with a 17-0 run for a 21-4 lead. Mac Walden (SR/Versailles, KY) broke the run with a three-pointer. The Trojans went more than seven minutes without a score. Walden connected on another basket and Byron Sanford (SR/Louisville, KY) scored as the Trojans scored seven straight to cut the lead to 10 (21-11) with 7:30 remaining in the half.

With the Panthers up 25-13, Jacob Williams (SO/Lebanon, TN) connected on a three-pointer with 4:49 left in the half for a 25-16 KWC advantage.

KWC lead 28-16 with 3:54 to go, but the Trojans scored eight straight for and trailed by just five (29-24) with 2:39 left in the half. Percy Blade (JR/Louisville, KY) and Mac Walden connected on back-to-back three-pointers and Walden added a basket in the run.

Wesleyan pushed the lead to nine (33-24) with :45 left on the clock, but Jalen Palm (SR/Louisville, KY) score with :21 second left and that's where it stayed at the break, KWC up 33-26.

KWC extended their lead to 10 (38-28) with 19:09 to go in the game. TNU kept the pressure on and cut the lead to just three (44-41) when Percy Blade connected from long range for a three-pointer with 14:10 to go. The Blade basket capped a 13-6 Trojan run and put the junior from Louisville at eight points for the game.

Wesleyan rebuilt the lead to double figures at 10 (51-41) with 10:44 to go. Trevecca cut the lead to six (62-56) with 3:16 to play on a Percy Blade layup.

Wesleyan built the lead back to 10 and then reach an 11-point lead (70-59) with less than a minute to go, which would serve as the final score.

Matt Gamberoni (SR/Mulhouse, France) led Trevecca with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Tyrell Corlew (SR/Louisville, KY) (12), Percy Blade (10), and Mac Walden (10) all reached double figures in scoring. Byron Sanford and Blade grabbed seven rebounds.

Trevecca shot 34% (22-65) from the field, 28% (8-28) from three-point range, and 70% (7-10) from the foul line. The rebonds were even at 41-41. Trevecca had 11 turnovers while KWC had nine. KWC outscored Trevecca 46-22 in the paint.
