Box Score FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (11-11, 6-1 G-MAC) evened their overall record at 11-11, winning for the fifth in a row and their seventh in the last eight outings. The Trojans defeated Kentucky State University (10-10) 102-86 on Tuesday night at the Exum Center.ÂÂ

Trevecca returns to the Commonwealth on Friday for a rematch with No. 18 Kentucky Wesleyan College (19-3) in Owensboro, Ky. at 7:30 PM. Friday's game was moved to Owensboro after the snow storm two weeks ago forced a change of locations and dates for the season series with the Panthers. Trevecca returns to the Trojan Fieldhouse on February 18th when they host Alderson Broaddus University (14-6) at 8 PM.

KWC, ABU, and TNU are currently tied at 6-1 atop the G-MAC men's basketball standings. TNU is 2-4 all-time versus KWC, but have won the last two meetings. ABU holds a 6-0 edge over the Trojans in the series.

TNU is 2-1 versus the Thorobreds all-time. KSU is now 8-3 at home this year.

The Thorobreds led for much of the first six minutes and led 13-12 with 13:59 left in the half. TNU scored 10 of the next 12 points for a seven-point (22-15) lead with a Jalen Palm (SR/Louisville, KY) three-pointer at the 11:43 mark.

A Kevin Shaw three-pointer with 8:43 to go in the half brought KSU back to within one (27-26). Trevecca rolled off 10 straight and pushed their lead to 11 (37-26) with 6:36 left in the half. Mac Walden (SR/Versailles, KY) connected on two three-pointers on either side of a Jacob Williams (SO/Lebanon, TN) three in the run.

Trevecca held a 47-39 lead at the break.

With 17:23 to go in the game the Trojans led by just six (52-46), but built their lead again, peaking at a 17-point (71-54) lead with 12:42 to go in the game.

The Thorobreds actually cut the lead to nine on a couple of occasions, but the Trojans rebuilt a double-figure lead each time and eventually secured a 16-point (102-86) victory.

Byron Sanford (SR/Louisville, KY) led the way with 28 points and added six rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Sanford scored 22 in the second half hitting 8-of-9. Jalen Palm added 20 points as did Matt Gamberoni (SR/Mulhouse, France). Gambo added a double-double with 11 rebounds and three assists. Palm chipped in two rebounds and six assists. Tyrell Corlew (SR/Louisville, KY) scored 13 points and had four assists and three steals. Percy Blade (JR/Louisville, KY) scored six and added eight rebounds.

Trevecca hit 61.5% (32-52) from the field, 47% (7-15) from three-point range, and 74% (31-42) from the line. Trevecca blistered the nets in the second half at 72% (16-22). Trevecca dominated the boards 44-29.
