Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (15-10, 7-1 G-MAC) lost on Senior Night at Cedarville University (18-7, 5-1 G-MAC) in three sets (25-17, 25-23, 25-20) at the Yellow Jackets Callan Athletic Center.

This was the 13th match between the two teams and the loss ends a two-match winning streak for the Trojans in the series. Trevecca is now 4-9 against the Yellow Jackets all-time.

Trevecca coach Jayme Crowley said, "We played with effort tonight, yet it was just Cedarville's night. The X factor was the huge crowd and it was and awesome atmosphere on senior night. Abby Shelton was not to be stopped on Senior night and overall Cedarville simply outplayed us."

Trevecca had a 9-8 lead at one point during the opening set, but the Yellow Jackets came on to take a 12-11 lead and extended that to a 20-13 advantage following a 8-1 run. Cedarville held off the Trojans for a 25-17 victory.

The Yellow Jackets opened the second set with a 6-1 lead before the Trojans pulled within one point (8-9). Cedarville regained command with a 4-1 run to make the score 13-9 Yellow Jackets. The Trojans returned to form and led 22-21 lead, but Cedarville used a 4-1 run to take set two, 25-23.

The third set was tied 13-13 when the Yellow Jackets used a 7-1 run to build a 20-14 lead and despite pulling to within three (22-19), but Cedarville closed with a 3-1 run to take the set and the match with a 25-20 victory.

Trevecca hit .095 (36 kills, 24 errors, 126 attacks) in the match. Trevecca's best set was the first when they hit .190 (13-5-42).

Hanna Matthews (FR/Ooltewah, TN) delivered the best punch for the Trojans with 28 assists, a .385 attack percentage (6-1-20), five digs, and two blocks. Katelyn Atkinson (SR/Hermitage, TN) had 16 digs and tied Alex Reuter (SO/Brentwood, TN) with a team-high eight kills. Claire Reinthaler (JR/Heyworth, IL) chipped in five blocks and two kills.

Trevecca returns to action on the 29th at Noon when the Trojans visits Ohio Valley University (6-21, 0-6 G-MAC). Trevecca leads the series 3-2 with the Fighting Scots, winning their last two matches in the series. Trevecca defeated OVU 3-1 in Nashville on Sept. 30th in their first meeting this year.
Trevecca's final home match is Wednesday, November 2, when they host their final G-MAC match when their travel partner, Kentucky Wesleyan College, comes for a visit to the Trojan Fieldhouse at 6 PM. It will be the final home match for Trevecca's lone senior, Katelyn Atkinson.
