Trevecca Volleyball | Trojans Sweep Alderson Broaddus; Host D&E Saturday @ 1PM

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (13-9, 6-0 G-MAC) defeated Alderson Broaddus University (3-20, 1-1 G-MAC) 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-13) in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference match at the Trojan Fieldhouse on Friday.

 

Trevecca will host another G-MAC match on Saturday when Davis & Elkins College (7-14, 0-1 G-MAC) visits at 1 PM. Trevecca is 4-0 versus the Senators all-time. Trevecca hosts Oakland City University (8-8) on Tuesday, October 25th at 7 PM on Cancer Awareness Night. The Trojans are also partnering with Napier Elementary School with the Stuffed Animal Toss for Kids. Plan to wear pink next Tuesday and bring a stuffed animal to toss onto the Fieldhouse floor between the second and third set. Click for Details

 

Trevecca is now 4-2 versus the Battlers all-time, having won two in a row in the series. The last meeting was in the G-MAC Championships last year. Trevecca is 3-0 at home versus ABU.

 

Trevecca hit for .353% (41 kills, 11 errors, 85 attacks) in the match and topped that with a  .438% (17-3-32) in the first set.

 

Trevecca never trailed in the first set and only trailed twice in the match. Alderson Broaddus took a 1-0 lead in the second and the third set, but Trevecca got a side out on the next point in both sets and never trailed again. In fact, after the second and third set were tied at 1-1, the only other tie was a 2-2 in the second set.

 

Stephanie Bouchard (JR/Chattanooga, TN) led the Trojans with a .632 attack percentage (13 kills, 1 error, 19 attacks) with two digs and a block. Alex Reuter (SO/Brentwood, TN) hit for .545% (6-0-11) with two blocks. Hanna Matthews (FR/Ooltewah, TN) had four kills, 27 assists, seven digs, and two block assists. Claire Reinthaler (JR/Heyworth, IL) had five kills and three blocks. Katelyn Atkinson (SR/Hermitage, TN) had nine kills and 13 digs. Clare Taylor (SO/Milan, TN) had three service aces and seven digs.
