Trevecca Men's Basketball | Trojans Grab Win Against Ohio Valley

NASHVILLE, .Tenn. - The Trevecca men's basketball team (8-11, 4-1 G-MAC) won for the fourth time in their last six games and now share the lead in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference regular season standings. Trevecca defeated the OVU 90-81 behind 29 point and 12 rebounds from Byron Sanford (SR/Louisville, KY). 

Trevecca returns to the Trojan Fieldhouse on Saturday when they host Salem International University at 4 PM.

Bryon Sanford scored Trevecca's first six points and had 15 points in the book before the first half had reached its midway point. A Tyrell Corlew (SR/Louisville, KY) three-pointer at the 15:41 mark put the Trojans ahead 14-7. The Scots took the lead at 15-14 at the 13:31 mark on a three pointer from Darryl Walker. The Trojans responded with a 12-4 run for a seven-point (26-19) lead at the 10:54 lead. The teams were tied (38-38) with 1:57 left in the half when the Trojans scored the final nine of the half for a 47-38 lead at the break.

The Scots scored the first six points of the second half and cut it to three (47-44) when Markese Allen scored with 18:11 left in the game. With 8:25 left Trevecca's lead stood at two (69-67). Trevecca rolled off an impressive 13-2 run for a 13 point (82-69) advantage. Trevecca held at least a comfortable lead the remainder of the game and settled in for and 90-81.

 Byron Sanford scored 29 on 12-for-21 shooting from the field. Sanford added 12 rebounds and six assists while hitting all four of his three-point attempts. Tyrell Corlew (14). Mac Waldn (12), and Percy Blade (JR/Louisville, KY) (11). The Trojans shot 47.1% (32-68) from the field, 54.5% (12-22) from three-point range, and 56% (14-25).
