Box Score 2 ELKINS, W.Va. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (27-6, 16-1 G-MAC) defeated Davis & Elkins College (18-15, 11-4 G-MAC) 3-0 and 8-2 in a scheduled double header at D&E on Saturday.

Trevecca will play on five consecutive days next week; the first three days are scheduled for the Trojan Softball Complex. Trevecca will host Union University (26-17, 14-15 GSC) on Tuesday at 2 p.m., Christian Brothers University (9-37, 2-24 GSC) on Wednesday at 1 p.m., and Davis & Elkins College (18-15, 11-4 G-MAC) for a single game at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Trevecca will conclude the week with a four games series, two Friday at 1 p.m. and two Saturday at 10 a.m., at Salem International University (11-24, 5-12 G-MAC).ÂÂ

The Trojans are now 4-0 all-time against the Senators and have won five in a row. The Trojans are 17-1 over their last 18 games and are 23-2 over their last 25 games.

GAME ONE
Lindsey Stephens (SR/Somerset, Ky.) provided the offense with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate, including a home run (7) and a triple (5). Stephens' home run was a two-run blast in the sixth, Kelsey Kemp (SR/Lawrenceburg, Tenn.) was on base. Danielle Tyson (FR/Smithville, Tenn.) drove in the other run, the first of the game for the Trojans, with a single that scored Stephens in the second inning.

Haley Fagan (JR/Cornersville, Tenn.) picked up another win (16-3) going the complete game for the shutout. Fagan allowed just two hits and had six strikeouts. Three of those strikeouts were on a called third strike.  ÂÂ

Tyson added a stolen base to her 1-for-3 effort. Stephens was the only batter for either team to have an extra base hit.

GAME TWO
Ansley Brantley (JR/Kite, Ga.) led off the game with a solo home run (11) in the top of the first inning for a 1-0 Trojan lead.

Danielle Tyson led off the second inning with a single. An out later, Shelby Andrews (JR/Dyersburg, Tenn.) connected on a two-run home run (5). The Trojans were not done in the inning. Kat Burbrink (FR/Hamilton, Ohio) singled and Brantley reached again, this time on a hit-by-pitch. Bailey Alexander (FR/Glasgow, Ky.) cashed in with a three-run home run (5). Trevecca's lead grew to 6-0 with the five-run second inning.

In the fourth inning the Senators scored two runs after loading the bases with one out. A hit-by-pitch and a fielder's choice drove in the two runs.

Trevecca added a run in the sixth following a leadoff double by Andrews. Alexander doubled her in with two out.

In the seventh Lindsey Stephens walked and scored when Kaitlin Crumpler (SO/Smyrna, Tenn.) reached on an error.

Sammie Jo Ivy (FR/Enville, Tenn. ) (2-0) picked up the win after relieving starter Kelsey Kemp.

Alexander was 3-for-3 with a home run, two doubles, and four RBI. Tyson was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and Shelby Andrews was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and a home run.
