Box Score

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca women's basketball team (17-10) had their 10-game win streak and season end in a 71-66 loss in the semifinals of the 2015 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships to defending champion Kentucky Wesleyan College (20-8) on Friday.

Trevecca failed to reach the G-MAC Championship game for the first time in the three-year history of the conference.

The loss ends the career of Trevecca's four seniors; Kaci Britt Bell (SR/Mt. Juliet, TN), Kylie White (JR/Clarksville, TN), Christina Curtner (SR/Chapel Hill, TN), and Haley Felker (SR/Kingston Springs, TN).

It is the second year in a row that KWC has ended the TNU season with a loss, last year the Panthers defeated Trojans in the championship game in Nashville.

KWC defeated Trevecca in Owensboro, Ky. Earlier this season with a strong rebounding effort, and did so again today with a  39-30 edge in rebounds.

Neither team shot the ball well from the outside. KWC hit just 2-of-13 from deep while the Trojans hit 5-of-21.

After trailing 7-3, Trevecca roared ahead with a 17-6 run that put the Trojans up seven (20-13) with 8:24 left in the first half. KWC turned the game in their favor with a 20-5 run that gave them an eight point lead (33-25) with 1:42 left in the half. The Panthers led 33-27 at the break.

A 6-0 run to start the second half put the Panthers up 12 (39-27). Trevecca chipped away at the Kentucky Wesleyan lead and took the lead again with 5:44 remaining (59-58) following a Christina Curtner three-pointer.

Eight straight from KWC put the Panthers up seven again. Trevecca returned the favor and tied the game at 66-66 with 2:25 remaining, but could not push past the Panthers. In fact, the Trojans would not score again and lost 71-66.

Kaci Britt Bell, Christina Curtner, Helen Mitchner (JR/Mt. Juliet, TN), and Kylie White all scored 12 points each. Curtner added 10 rebounds for the double-double.

Trevecca hit 40% (23-57) from the field and 15-22 from the foul line. KWC hit 48% (24-50) from the field and 21-of-24 from the line.
