Ohio Valley was first on the board with a three and grabbed another jumper for a 5-1 run but a pair of free throws from Tyrell Corlew (JR/Louisville, KY) and a jumper from Jalen Palm (JR/Louisville, KY) helped the Trojans tie it up at five with 17:54 on the clock. A basket from Byron Sanford (JR/Louisville, KY) would give TNU their first lead of the game but OVU would tie it again at seven then used a 12-4 run to grab the largest lead of the half, eight (11-19), with 13:00 left in the half. Trevecca followed with an 11-3 run to bring the third tie of the game, 22-22 (9:59). The game would see five more ties in the half (25-25 at 9:36, 32-32 at 4:58, 33-33 at 4:34, 34-34 at 4:25, and 37-37 at 3:56) before OVU would gain the edge and finish the half up by four, 47-43.
Percy Blade (SO/Louisville, KY) drilled a three to lead TNU on a 10-7 run that was enough to tie the game, 56-56 at 14:00, but OVU took the lead again. They stretched that lead out with 20-7 run over six minutes of play to see the largest lead of the game (13), 78-65, with 8:13 left in the game.
Trevecca inched their way back and a bucket from Mac Walden (JR/Versailles, KY) with 40 seconds left put TNU just one basket behind. OVU grabbed the rebound but Walden would steal it and pass to Byron Sanford for a nice and easy layup for the tenth and final tie of the game, 85-85, with 25 seconds on the clock. Ohio Valley missed a three to finish the half, 85-85, and heading into overtime.
Coming off that game-saving layup, Sanford put in another jumper followed by a layup from Matt Gamberoni to put the Trojans up by four, 89-85, one minute into the five minute overtime. The Scots sunk a three and Mac Walden answered with a three right back. Trevecca now led by four-points after two minutes.

Nerves arose again when Gamberoni and Sanford fouled out just moments apart. The Scots broke the ice and put themselves within one possession of the lead. Jalen Palm picked off the ball and drew a foul, putting in one from behind the line. On the next OVU possessio, a missed three gave Blade the chance to sink a layup that put TNU up by five. OVU scored one more layup before fouling Mac Walden, who put in a free throw to finish the Trojans on top, 96-92.
Five Trojans hit double digits in scoring, Byron Sanford and Mac Walden leading the way with 19, Jalen Palm and Percy Blade marking 17, and Matt Gamberoni 15. Gamberoni also grabbed 13 boards to lead the Trojans, and enough for a double-double, as well as four assists. Palm and Walden also grabbed three steals each.
