Atkinson became the G-MAC's current all-time career leader in kills (1,265), surpassing Ohio Valley's Alyx Henry.

KWC started with an 8-4 lead in the second set. Loren Bennett led the Trojans with eight points on set, including six in a row that took a tied match and opened up a 22-16 TNU advantage. KWC scored five straight on the serve of Nicole Veneman, but with the score tied 22-22 a service error gave the Trojans the lead and the serve. Clare Taylor served the final two points of the match for  2-0 Trojan lead.

Set three was all KWC early as they scored the first seven. Trevecca cut the lead to a point, but could not get over the hump.

The third set was even more of a dominant performance by the Panthers. They held an 18-10 lead and the Trojans would get no closer than five the rest of the way. The Panthers won 25-16, sending the match to a fifth set.

Trevecca, after falling behind 1-0, scored seven straight for a 7-1 lead. Trevecca led 9-3 and continued that pace for a 15-6 victory.
