Box Score

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (1-1) beat Maryville University-St. Louis (0-2) on Saturday. The game was the final game of the 2015 GLVC/G-MAC Crossover Classic at MUSL's Moloney Arena.

Trevecca returns to action on Thursday when they host Christian Brothers University (0-1) at 7PM at the Trojan Fieldhouse. The two teams split the last two meetings during the 2012-13 season, each picking up road wins. CBU and TNU are former Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference foes from their days in the NAIA.

Trevecca will return a trip to Memphis to play the Bucs Canale Arena on December 31 at 4PM.

The Bucs are coached by Mike Nienaber, who was a longtime coach at Bethel University where he faced the Trojans many times as former conference members of the TCAC and TranSouth.

Trevecca wins for the first time in the three-game history of the series between the Saints and the Trojans.

Mac Walden (SR/Versailles, KY) opened the game with a three-point basket just 15 seconds in and the Trojans added a Byron Sanford (SR/Louisville, KY) layup 45 seconds in for 5-0 lead.

A Sanford layup at the 9:23 mark pushed the Trojan lead to double digits (27-16) at 11 for the first time in the game.

Sanford hit a free throw with 4:14 left in the half to give the Trojans their largest lead of the half, 42-29, at 13 points. Trevecca's lead was six, 48-42, at the half.

Trevecca outscored the Maryville 22-16 in the paint in the first half and 8-2 on fast break scoring.

TNU shot 52.6% (30-57) from the field and hit 45.5% (10-22) from three-point range, and 73.1% (19-26) from the foul line.
