Game One

Trevecca opened the game with a run in the top of the first and added four in the third. CU scratched their run in the fourth, but Trevecca equaled that with a run in the sixth. Trevecca collected eight hits and had one error. CU had five hits and played clean baseball in the field.

In the top of the first inning, Trevecca's Hunter Newman (SO/Chapmansboro, Tenn.) delivered a two-out double and scored later on a Luke Fennell (SR/Franklin, Tenn.) RBI-single.

Newman started the scoring again in the third when he led off the inning by drawing a four-pitch walk. Fennell, again, came through with a single that moved Newman to second. Jeffrey Scarritt (SO/Spring Hill, Tenn.) followed with a single to load the base with no outs in the inning. Bryson Shelton (FR/Powell, Tenn. ) drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in Newman. Ryan Arington (FR/Cincinnati, Ohio) reached on a fielder's choice that drove in Fennell, but forced out Shelton at second. Arington stole second setting the table for Camron Boyett who followed with a two-RBI single that put the Trojans up 5-1.

Nick Howell (SR/Hendersonville, Tenn.) reached on a 1-out four-pitch walk and then stole second before reaching third on a passed ball. Tyler Tichenor (SO/Centertown, Ky) took advantage and drove Howell in with a single.

Tichenor was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Fennell was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Cameron Boyett (SO/Rockvale, Tenn.) was 1-for-3 with two RBI. Newman was 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, two runs scored, and a double.

John Bolton (FR/Nolensville, Tenn.) (5-1) picked up the win and pitched six innings of five-hit ball. Bolton allowed a run and a walk while sitting down seven Yellow Jackets on strikes. Austin Sisk (SO/Kodak, Tenn. ) pitched the seventh in perfect fashion with one strike out.

Game Two

Cedarville started the scoring with a three-run fourth, but Trevecca tied the game with a three-run top of the fourth. TNU scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings for a 5-3 lead. In the eighth CU plated a run to cut the TNU lead to just one at 5-4. In the bottom of the ninth CU put the pressure on and scored two runs for the win, avoiding a series sweep by the Trojans.

Cedarville pounded out 18 hits to balance out their three errors. Trevecca had a nine-hit effort and played errorless ball.

In the three-run Trevecca fifth, Ethan Hurt (FR/Pegram, Tenn.) reached on an error with one out. Hurt stole second and scored on an RBI single from Tyler Tichenor. Hunter Newman walked and stole second ahead of a Luke Fennell doubled that drove in Newman and Tichenor.

In the sixth Cameron Boyett hit a one-out double. Ethan Hurt followed with a single, but a wild throw allowed Boyett to come around and score.

In the seventh, Trevecca's Tichenor opend the inning with a single and advanced to second on a stolen base. He moved to third on a wild pitch where he scored from on a Scarritt sacrifice ground out.

Trevecca led 5-4 going into the bottom of the ninth. The Yellow Jackets loaded the bases with a walk, a single, and a successful bunt. A pop up to first drove in the tying run. Then David Johnson singled to score the winning run for Cedarville.

The loss wasted a four-hit effort by Tyler Tichenor who was 4-for-5 with two runs scored, a stolen base, and an RBI.
