Box Score 2 NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (15-5, 2-0 G-MAC) remained undefeated in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play with 4-1 and 7-1 victories over Cedarville University (13-8, 0-2) on Friday.

Trevecca completed G-MAC regular season and postseason play last year undefeated. It will be more difficult with additional games this season, but the preseason favorites picked up two wins in the season-opening doubleheader.

Game One
Cedarville broke a scoreless tie with a run in the top of the third. After loading the bases, Shannon Muldowney worked Trevecca starter Haley Fagan for a walk to force in the games first run.

Trevecca responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning. With two out Ansley Brantley singled and stole second. Following a Lindsey Stephens walk, Mackenzie Leding singled to drive in Brantley.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the fifth when the Trojans scored three times. Megan Chesney led off the inning with a solo home run. An out later Brantley walked to setup the table for Stephens two-run home run.

Both teams left plenty of runs on base. Cedarville left 14 runners on base and Trevecca nine.

Kelsey Chapman (3-1) took the loss and departed after 4.2 innings pitched. Chapman allowed seven hits, four runs – all earned, along with two walks and sat down four Trojans on strikes.

In all Trevecca has 10 hits and three errors. Cedarville managed four hits.

Fagan (6-2) pitched the complete game for the win and allowed just four hits and a run - unearned, with eight walks and struck out 11.

Kelsey Kemp was 2-for-3 with a stolen base. Jordan Griner was 2-for-3. Stephens was 1-for-2 with two RBI, a run scored, two walks, and a home run. Brantley was 1-for-2 with two runs scored, two stolen bases, and two walks.

Game Two
After a scoreless first, Trevecca scored a run in the bottom of the first, two in the second, three in the third, and one in the fourth. Cedarville scored on in the seventh to break up the shutout.

Kelsey Kemp (6-1) picked up the win pitching 6.1 innings and allowed six hit, a run - earned, eight walks, and struck out eight. Lindsey Stephens came on to get the final two outs of the game.

Cedarville contributed to Trevecca's offense with six errors in the game. Trevecca had nine hits and no errors. Cedarville had six hits and left 13 runners on base.

Courtnie Spain (5-4) took the loss after going four innings and allowing seven hits, six runs – all unearned, with a walk and three strikeouts.

Kemp was 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored, a stolen base, and an RBI. Shelby Andrews was 2-for-2 at the plate with two runs scored and a walk. Jordan Griner was 2-for-3 with a double. Brantley, Kemp, and Richards all picked up a stolen base.

Trevecca returns to action on Saturday when they host Ursuline College (8-9) for a double header starting at 2 p.m.
