Box Score 2 FLORENCE, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene Trojan softball team (5-2) outlasted NCAA Division II No. 7 University of Indianapolis (4-4) 6-4 and pounded Christian Brothers University (1-4) 12-2 on their final day of play at the North Alabama Invitational.

GAME ONE:
Trevecca opened play on Saturday with a game against respected Indianapolis, an in-region opponent. The game had five lead changes, with the Trojans eventually pulling ahead for good with two runs in the sixth to go ahead 6-4.

The sixth-inning production came off the bat of Alex Richardson and her two-run single, scoring Heather Shuler and Ansley Brantley.

Newcomer Haley Fagan (2-1) picked up the win in the circle for Trevecca allowing four runs, only one earned run, over seven innings while striking out 11. UIndy batters drew three walks and scattered nine hits.ÂÂ

Trevecca chased UIndy starter Morgan Lewis after 5 2/3, walking two, with six strikeouts and four runs allowed. ÂÂ

Trevecca scored two in the bottom of the first for a 2-0 lead. Kelsey Kemp triggered the offense with a double, before Mackenzie Leding doubled, scoring Kelsey. Later Lindsey Stephens scored on a passed ball.

The Greyhounds tied the game in the second on an RBI single by Krysta Bradford that scored Samantha Krcelich.

The Trojans brought home two runs in the third inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the third, Richardson added a run with a solo home run.

Alex Richardson was 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI, a run scored, and a home run. Kelsey Kemp was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk, a stolen base, and a double. Mackenzie Leding had a double and an RBI. Lindsey Stephens was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Trevecca scored six runs on six hits and had one error. UIndy scored there four runs on nine hits and didn't commit and error.

GAME TWO
Trevecca exploded for 12 runs, six of those coming in the fourth inning.

The six-run fourth scoring started with an RBI single by Megan Chesney and followed by an RBI single by Ansley Brantley, a two-run single by Kelsey Kemp, and a passed ball.

Lindsey Stephens (2-0) got it done in the circle with the victory. Stephens allowed just two runs over four innings and sat down three on strikes with no walks and only three hits surrendered. Sammie Jo Ivy came on to pitch the fifth and produced a one hit, one walk, and one strikeout inning.

Kim Adams was charged with the loss for the Bucs. Adams allowed six runs in three innings, walked three and struck out three.

In the top of the first Christian Brothers took a 2-0 lead. ÂÂ

Trevecca respond scoring two runs of its own in the first to start the streak of 12 unanswered runs for the Trojans.

Trevecca never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring two runs on a fielder's choice.

In all Kelsey Kemp was 2-for-3 at the plate, racking up five RBI's and a run scored. ÂÂ

Trevecca's 12 runs came on nine hits while the team combined for just one error. CBU score their two runs on four hits and committed four errors defensively.
