Box Score FLORENCE, Ala. – Truman State (1-0) held Trevecca Nazarene (3-2) to just two hits en route to a 4-1 win Friday afternoon at the North Alabama Invitational.

The Bulldogs got on the board in the third as Alexis VanNostrand scored from third after an error from the Trojan infield.

Trevecca's Lindsey Stephens got the team's first hit of the game in the top of the fourth but was left stranded as the Bulldogs retired the next three Trojan batters.

Truman State extended its lead to 3-0 in the bottom half of the fifth. Â Ally McReynolds doubled to left field which scored Corey Niblett and Kelsey Bollman. In the next at-bat VanNostrand recorded another double pushing TSU's lead to 4-0.

Alex Richardson provided Trevecca's lone run of the game in the sixth as she socked her first home run of her career past right center field.

Kelsey Kemp (1-1) took the loss for TNU tossing 4.2 innings, allowing six hits, three earned runs and striking out four batters.

Trevecca will return to action Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. and face national powerhouse University of Indianapolis (3-3). TNU will follow with a game against Christian Brothers University (0-2) to close out the North Alabama Invitational.
