Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca men's basketball team (1-5) dropped a 90-81 decision to McKendree University (3-0) Saturday afternoon at the Trojan Fieldhouse. The Trojans are back in action Monday night at home against Alabama-Huntsville (5-0) at 8 p.m. The Chargers defeated the Trojans 95-70 back on November 17th in Huntsville.

Saturday's game was tight throughout much of the first half, with neither team able to build much of a lead, until the Bearcats scored the final six points of the half to take a 45-38 lead into the locker room.ÂÂ

A 10-1 Bearcat spurt to start the second half pushed the lead to 16, and things weren't looking good for the Trojans. McKendree still led 71-57 after a pair of John Murphy free throws with 8:10 left, when the Trojans began to mount a rally. A 3-pointer by
Matt Pond (SO/Franklin, Tenn.) started a 13-2 run to pull the Trojans within 73-70 with 5:53 to play. But the Bearcats' Matt Holmes answered with back-to-back buckets, and Holmes scored 11 of his game-high 27 points down the stretch to help McKendree hold on for the victory.

Christopher Elliott (JR/Spring Hill, Tenn.) led five Trojans in double figures with 14 points, while
Byron Sanford (JR/Louisville, Ky. ) added 13 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.
Jalen Palm (JR/Louisville, Ky.) and
Percy Blade (SO/Louisville, Ky.) chipped in 12 points each for Trevecca, and
Tyrell Corlew (JR/Louisville, Ky.) added 11.

Holmes led McKendree with 27 points on 13-of-17 shooting, and added nine rebounds. Logan Carson contributed 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

The Bearcats shot 56.1% (32-of-57) from the field, 50% (10-of-20) from 3-point range, and 66.7% (16-of-24) from the free throw line. The Trojans shot 41.2% (28-of-68) from the floor, 40% (10-of-25) from 3-point range, and 78.9% (15-of-19) from the charity stripe. Trevecca outrebounded McKendree 38-34, included 19-11 on the offensive glass.ÂÂ
