Men's Basketball | Missouri S & T Knocks Off Trevecca

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca men's basketball team (1-4) dropped an 88-78 decision to Missouri University of Science & Technology (3-1) Tuesday night at the Trojan Fieldhouse. It was the first meeting between the two schools in men's basketball. Trevecca will visit S & T on December 12 in Rolla, Mo.

The Trojans return to action Saturday afternoon at home against McKendree University (1-0) at 4 p.m. The series between the two schools is tied at 2-2. The teams have split a pair of games in each of the last two seasons. Trevecca will return the favor on December 13 when the Trojans will visit McKendree in Lebanon, Ill.
 
Christopher Elliott (JR/Spring Hill, Tenn.) led six Trojans in double figures with 17 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field and 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Tyrell Corlew (JR/Louisville, Ky.) added 13 points, Jalen Palm (JR/Louisville, Ky.) chipped in 12, Byron Sanford (JR/Louisville, Ky. ) and Jacob Williams (FR/Nashville, Tenn.) contributed 11 points apiece, and Matt Gamberoni (JR/Mulhouse, France) tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds. 
 
Marcus Walden led the Miners with 17 points, Desmond Buerge added 15, Zach Ellis chipped in 14, and Juwan Miller added 10.
 
Trevecca shot 43.1% (22-of-51) from the field, 38.1% (8-of-21) from 3-point range, and 66.7% (26-of-39) from the free throw line. Missouri S & T shot 40.4% (23-of-57) from the floor, 31.6% (6-of-19) from beyond the arc, and 78.3% (36-of46) from the charity stripe.
 
The Miners forced 30 Trojan turnovers, contributing to a 32-13 advantage in points off turnovers. Missouri S & T finished with a 38-34 edge on the glass, including 11-7 on the offensive boards.
