Men's Cross Country | Trevecca 12th; Rodgers 29th at NCAA Midwest Regional

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Trevecca men's cross country team participated in the 2014 NCAA Midwest Regional and Logan Rodgers (SO/Denton, Texas) was the top finisher, finishing 29th of 190 runners. He was also the top runner from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

 

Logan Rodgers finished 28th overall with a time of 31:45. Ben Moroney (SO/Jackson, Tenn.) was next for Trevecca in 56th place with a time of 32:45. Taylor Flemming (SO/Warr Acres, Okla.) turned in a 76th place finish with a time fo 33:11. Josh Winskie (JR/Greenbrier, Tenn.) recorded a 33:37 time to finish 94th. Brandon Laws (FR/Sevierville, Tenn.) was the final Trojan whose time counted toward the team effort. Laws was 103rd with a 33:49. Alex O'Bryan (SO/Owensboro, Ky.) finished in 35:15 and John Layton (FR/Apopka, Fla.) crossed the line 38:15 to round out the Trojan runners.

 

Trevecca coach Austin Selby said, "I honestly believe we had the best team race of the year. We finished where we should have. We had hoped for more out of Logan, but these races are so tactical, some things changed and kind of put him in a rough spot. Time to rest, and prepare for the indoor and outdoor track seasons."

 

The team averaged 33:02 and turned in a team-time of 2:45:07. Trevecca was 12th overall and just two spots behind conference champion Cedarville. The Yellow Jackets finished 10th as the top G-MAC participant.
