Trevecca Cross Country | Trojans Warmup for 2025 Gulf South Championships at Lewis Crossover

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Trevecca Nazarene University cross country teams wrapped up the regular season with a competitive showing at the Lewis Crossover, hosted by Lewis University at the Lewis XC Course. The meet served as the final tune-up before the 2025 Gulf South Conference Championships later this month.

WOMEN'S RACE NOTES

Freshmen Hailey Holloway led the way for the Trojan women, clocking a 23:56 to pace the team.

Trevecca finished 31st out of 36 teams, posting a total time of 2:01:58 with an average of 24:23 per runner.

Head coach Austin Selby was pleased with how his young women's team handled both the competition and the 6K distance—many of them for the first time being tested at the 6K distance.

"Our women had a great day and competed well against a deep field," Selby said. "It was rewarding to beat some of our old G-MAC rivals and pressure others. It was a great first 6K for a lot of the freshmen."

MEN'S RACE NOTES

Sophomore Joshua Novotny led the Trojan men with a 26:05, finishing in the top half of the field. The Trevecca men placed 35th in a 36-team field recording a time of 2:17:12 and averaged 27:26.

Selby noted that while several runners turned in strong performances, the men's team battled some late-race setbacks.

"Most of our men had a really good day, but we ended up missing two of our top three due to unfortunate DNF's," Selby said. "It was tough to see Caleb Hinson have to pull up in the final kilometer while on pace for one of our top-two all-time 8K efforts. Garrett Wilson also had to step out with a leg injury."

UP NEXT The Lewis meet marked the Trojans' final regular season race. Trevecca now turns its focus to the 2025 Gulf South Conference Championships, set for October 25 in Memphis, Tenn., followed by the NCAA South Region Championship on November 8 in Lakeland, Fla.
