Trevecca Cross Country | Gulf South and NCAA South Region Polls Released

NASHVILLE - The Gulf South Conference released its 2025 GSC Preseason Cross Country Coaches Polls and the Trevecca Nazarene University Women's Cross Country program is ranked No. 8 while the Trevecca men come in at No. 10.

The 2025 GSC Preseason Polls are determined via an online ballot by the GSC's 12 head women's cross country coaches and 11 men's cross country coaches, who were not able to vote for their own teams.

Also released today, the Trevecca Women's Cross Country program opens the 2025 season ranked No. 10 in the 2025 Preseason USTFCCCA (US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) NCAA South Region Poll.

The USTFCCA Regional Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strength in determining a rank-order of squad potential.

TREVECCA SCHEDULE

The Trojans open the season Friday, September 12 at the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State at the John Hunt Course in Huntsville.

The Trojans host the Michael Pretorious Invitational the following week on Saturday, September 20 at their home course, Vaughn's Gap at Percy Warner Park. The Gulf South Championships are Saturday, October 25 in Memphis.

TREVECCA WOMEN'S XC PREVIEW

The Trojans are picked eighth in the GSC poll a year after finishing seventh in their first GSC Championships in the fall of 2024. The Trojans hope to defy the predictions in 2025 like they did in 2024. The conference coaches placed the 2024 Trojans tenth in the preseason poll, a prediction they beat by three places in the championships.

Seniors Hope Ilias and Anne Crechale return for a final season after helping lead the Trojans to that seventh-place finish at the 2024 championships and the programs highest all-time finish at an NCAA regional.

Remmy Arney, in her freshman season, was the top Trojan at the GSC (25th) and the NCAA South Region (39th). Ashley Alsvig, as a sophomore, finished 29th (of 97) at the GSC and 51st (of 107) at the regional.

The Trojans are No. 8 in the 2025 Gulf South Conference preseason poll after finishing seventh at their first GSC Championship in 2024. Last fall, the Trojans exceeded expectations by placing three spots higher than their preseason ranking, and they look to build on that momentum in 2025.

Seniors Hope Ilias and Anne Crechale return to anchor the squad after leading the Trojans to a seventh-place finish at the GSC Championships and their highest-ever finish at the NCAA South Regional.

Sophomore Remmy Arney, the team's top performer as a freshman, placed 25th at the GSC meet and 39th at the South Regional. Fellow returner Ashley Alsvig posted a 29th-place finish at conference and 51st at regionals.

TREVECCA MEN'S XC PREVIEW

The Trojans are picked tenth in the GSC poll a year after finishing right there in their first GSC Championships in the fall of 2024.

Despite only one senior on the roster, Anthony Kosinski, the Trojans have some experience returning. Three 2024 freshmen - Joshua Novotny, Caleb Hinson, Dominic Paliaro - finished in the points for TNU at the 2024 GSC Championships. At the 2024 NCAA South Region, two freshmen - Joshua Novotny, Caleb Hinson - again finished in the points for the Trojans.

Joshua Novotny and Caleb Hinson were the top Trojan finisher in five of the six meets on the year. Novotny claimed the low Trojan time four times.
