Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca volleyball team (9-7, 1-0 G-MAC) defeated Central State University (0-5, 0-4 G-MAC) in straights sets, 25-11, 25-18, 25-12. Trevecca is 5-0 all-time versus the Marauders.
Trevecca will host conference leader Cedarville University (11-6, 3-0 G-MAC) at 1 p.m. at the Trojan Fieldhouse. Cedarville and Ursuline College are tied atop the G-MAC standings at 3-0. Cedarville was picked to win the G-MAC again this year while Trevecca was picked fourth by the coaches.
Delaney Hearne (JR/San Marcos, Tex.) had a 10 kill and eight dig match with a .318 attack percentage. Katelyn Atkinson (SO/Hermitage, Tenn.) had 13 kills and seven digs while Loren Bennett (JR/Ooltewah, Tenn.) had a team-high 30 assists and seven digs. Jayla Raynor (FR/Smyrna, Tenn.) added five kills and three blocks. Allison Boe (JR/Murrieta, Calif.) had eight digs.
As a team Trevecca had a .183 attack percentage for the match and their best set was the third when they posted 16 kills against only seven errors for a .273 attack percentage.
Coach Crowley said she felt the team played well but will need more tomorrow, "It is always nice to win and especially in conference, but we'll need an A or A+ effort tomorrow to have a chance at Cedarville. We hope for a good crowd of supporters. The win is a nice boost to our moral and should help us going into tomorrow."
