Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca volleyball team (11-8, 3-1 G-MAC) defeated conference foe Alderson Broaddus University (5-15, 2-3 G-MAC) 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-22) on Friday at the Trojan Fieldhouse. Trevecca is 2-1 all-time versus the Battlers.

Trevecca is set to host Davis & Elkins College (4-8, 1-4 G-MAC) on Saturday at 1 p.m., again at the Trojan Fieldhouse. Watch Live Trevecca finishes off the home stand when they host Alabama-Huntsville (9-7) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

ABU had the better attack percentage. Outhitting the Trojans .181 to .135. Trevecca had more kills, but also had more chances (11-105) and errors (20-15). The Trojans advantage came by way of having fewer set errors, serve errors, reception errors, block errors, and ball handling errors.

Loren Bennett (JR/Ooltewah, Tenn.) led the way with 26 assists, three service aces, seven digs, two block assists, and three kills. Delaney Hearne (JR/San Marcos, Tex.) chipped in six kills and a .250 attack percentage and two block assists. Katelyn Atkinson (SO/Hermitage, Tenn.) had a team-high 14 kills, 10 digs, two service aces, and a .150 attack percentage. Kayleigh Jarrett (SO/Tehachapi, Calif.) had a team-high 15 digs.

Trevecca led 18-17 later in the first set before going on a 4-1 run. Trevecca held at least a three-point advantage the rest of the way. In the second set Trevecca never trailed and nearly doubled up the Battlers when they took a 16-9 lead.

Trevecca leapt out to a 6-1 lead early in the third and it looked like the Battlers were ready to head to Owensboro for Saturday's match with Kentucky Wesleyan, but ABU rallied and chipped away at the Trojans lead. Eventually the Battlers took the lead 14-13 capping a 13-7 run. It was the latest in all three matches that ABU held the lead. Trevecca responded and regained the lead and won 25-22 for a three-set sweep.

Trevecca is 2-0 all-time versus D&E with both wins coming last season. Alabama-Huntsville defeated Trevecca 3-1 in the fourth match of the year at the UAH Marriott Classic. It is the only meeting all-time in basketball between the two schools.
