Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Adam Kline tallied a game-high 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead Alderson Broaddus University (9-4, 3-0 G-MAC) to a 72-52 victory over Trevecca Nazarene University (5-10, 2-3 G-MAC) Thursday night in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference men's basketball matchup at the Trojan Fieldhouse.

In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, the Battlers controlled the paint out-rebounding the Trojans by +22 (45-23) while also holding a 46-22 points in the paint advantage.  Alderson Broaddus also had a 23-7 second-chance points advantage.

After an early tussle about five minutes into the first half, Alderson Broaddus' Malcolm Tatum hit a three-pointer that ignited an 11-0 run giving the road team a 16-7 lead. Tatum would hit another three with 7:41 left in the first half to put Alderson Broaddus up 27-16.

The Battlers kept that double-digit lead the rest of the half and took a 40-23 lead into the break. ABU shot 50% (18-of-36) in the first period.

In the second half, TNU would not be able to muster a comeback as the closest they got was 13 points (40-27) 40 seconds in after a Byron Sanford layup.

Alderson Broaddus would go up as many as 24 points in the second half as Eric Palmers' layup with 1:26 left pushed the Battlers' lead to 69-45.

ABU held TNU to a season-low 52 points while holding the purple and white to 39.5% (17-of-43) shooting from the field.

Kline was near perfect from the field hitting 11-of-12 while also chipping in with two assists and three blocks. Richard Lemon recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds and Thylas Perkins chipped in with 15. AB hit 49.2% (31-of-63) from the field.

David Woodard who totaled 13 points including a 7-of-9 line at the charity stripe led Trevecca. Taylor Clay contributed 11 points on a trio of shots from beyond the arc and Sanford added nine points for Trevecca.

The Trojans will look to snap a three-game losing streak Jan. 11 as its hosts Davis & Elkins College (8-6, 1-2 G-MAC) for a 4 p.m. tip. It's the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
