Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. – The Trevecca volleyball team (14-12, G-MAC 5-6) lost a five set match at Union University (8-18), 3-2 (17-25, 25-18, 27-29, 25-21, 13-15),  at Fred Delay Gym on Tuesday night. The win breaks a three-game win streak for the Trojans in the series between the former TranSouth foes.

In the first set an 8-8 match turned the way of the Bulldogs with nine straight points by Union. The 17-8 lead turned into a 25-17 win for UU. A similar run by the Trojans turned the tide in set two. Union led 14-9 and the Trojans flipped the set with a eight straight points and scored 16 of the final 20 points for a 25-18 final.

The third set was close throughout. In fact only two times in the set did either team hold more than a two-point advantage, including the 29-27 final. Union took the match and a 2-1 advantage. The fourth set was in Union's favor for much of the match. In fact Union looked to be in control with a 17-10 lead. Trevecca tied the match at 18-18 and pulled ahead for a 25-21 win.

The final was dominated by Union early, but the Trojans tied the match at 11-11 after trailing 10-5. Trevecca scored on a Katelyn Atkinson kill to cut the Union advantage at 14-13. The Bulldogs finished off the match with a side out on the ensuing Trevecca serve.

Katelyn Atkinson led Trevecca with 17 kills and a .196 attack percentage. Atkinson added 18 digs and two blocks. Delaney Hearne added 12 digs, with a .385 attack percentage, while also producing four kills and four digs. Loren Bennett had seven kills, 20 assists, two service aces, and 10 digs. Shelby Sorce led Trevecca with 21 digs and had two service aces. Kristen Johnson had six kills, 25 assists, two service aces, nine digs, and four blocks. Kayleigh Jarrett had 17 digs.

Trevecca will host senior night on Thursday, as the Trojans will see Kristen Johnson, Shelby Sorce, and Persephonie Devereaux play for the last time at the Trojan Fieldhouse.  Oakland City University (16-6) is the opponent for the 6 p.m. match.
