Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Trevecca men's basketball (1-3) 83-69 to No. 19 Alabama-Huntsville's (1-2) at Spragins Hall. Trevecca leads the all-time series 5-4, but UAH has won the last three.

 Trevecca opened up the game on fire and led 7-0 in less than two minutes. The Chargers roared back to take a 10-8 lead with 14:12 remaining in the half.  The game was tight over the next few minutes until UAH pulled ahead 22-16 at the 9:32 mark. With 8:37 to go UAH held a 24-18 lead. Trevecca, fueled by David Woodard's 17 first-half points, surged ahead over the final minutes of the first half. In all, Trevecca outscored Huntsville 19-2 to the first half buzzer and led by 11 (37-26) at the break.

In the first half Trevecca shot 58% (15-26) from the field.

Trevecca continued their run with a 5-0 start to the second half and led by 16 (42-26). Trevecca maintained control of the game through a great deal of the second half and led by 14 (52-38) with 13:12 to go. The No. 19 Chargers began their run and took the lead (56-55) for the first time in the second half (9:11) with a 18-3 spurt.

A Byron Sanford jumper and a Jordan Miles free throw gave the Trojans the lead at again at 57-56, but when the Ronnie Mack scored on a layup to put UAH up again, the Trojans would never lead again. UAH outscored TNU 57-32 in the second half and settled for an 83-69 victory.

In the second half, UAH shot 56% (14-25) from the field, 60% (9-15) from long range, and 80% (20-25) from the line.

Woodard led Trevecca with 20 points and Jordan Miles scored 19. Miles added eight rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Woodard led the team with three assists. Byron Sanford recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Aaron Tuner also reached double figures in rebounding with a team-high 12.

As a team Trevecca shot 44% (23-52) from the field, 40% (4-10) from three-point range, and 59% (19-32) from the foul line. TNU had the edge in rebounding (41-31), pointes in the paint (32-12), and fast break points (6-4). The Chargers led in points off of turnovers (21-7) and bench points (20-10).

On Saturday Trevecca will play King University (1-2) at 4 p.m. The Tornadoes are coached by George Pitts who won several TSSAA state championships while coaching Science Hill High School and Brentwood Academy. Â
