Box Score MASON, Ohio – Ursuline College (8-7, 2-2 G-MAC) swept Trevecca Nazarene (9-6, 2-2 G-MAC) in three sets Saturday afternoon at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Crossover held at the Courts4Sports Gym.

The Arrows controlled the entire match and had help from several players including Alex Leister who had a match-high nine kills. As a team, UC hit an efficient .272 while Trevecca could never get into any rhythm and hit just .051.

Delaney Hearne gave TNU a slim 6-5 advantage early on, but after a Sammi Marcum attack error tied the score at eight, Ursuline would go on a 7-1 run to take control. Molly Hilfinger had a pair of kills in the run and Trevecca aided UC with three errors.

Hilfinger gave Ursuline its biggest lead (20-10) following a service ace and would eventually win 25-19.

In set two, the Arrows offense and defense would be solid. UC hit .371 and held TNU to a .000 attack percentage. Shelby Sorce cut the early deficit to two (10-8) following her service ace, but that would be the closest Trevecca would get the rest of the way. Leister and Emily Adkinson each had four kills in the second set.

Ursuline would lead from start to finish in the third set to claim victory. UC got out to a 14-6 lead following a Marcum ace and would go up by 10 after a Marcum kill (21-11).

Makalya Windau contributed eight kills and a match-high 16 digs. Hilfinger distributed a match-high 27 assists and chipped in with six kills while Adkinson added six kills of her own. Marcum and Maureen Kelly totaled five kills each for UC.

Kristen Johnson led TNU with seven kills, seven assists and eight digs. Kirsten Taylor added five kills while Caroline Gay had a team-high 14 assists. Sorce paced the Trojans defense with 13 digs.

Trevecca will be back in action Oct. 8 as they travel to McKenzie, Tenn., to face Bethel University (6-13) for a 7 p.m. match.
