Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca improved to 3-0 with a pair wins in the final day of the 2012 Scott Jones Classic @ Trevecca. The first was a five-set win (15-25, 25-17, 25-16, 16-25, 15-13) over Kentucky Chrisitan (1-2). Kristen Johnson led the way with a 20 kill, 10 dig, and 16 assist effort. The second was a straight set win over former TranSouth foe Martin Methodist (25-13, 25-21, 25-10).ÂÂ
Trevecca placed two players on the All-Scott Jones Classic Team, they were Kristen Johnson and Caroline Gay. Johnson went on to be named the first-ever Great Midwest Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week.

Game One
Trevecca fell behind early and set one as Kentucky Christian was playing their second match in a row. The Knights rolled off a quick 25-15 win. The Knights had 13 kills and a .29% attack percentage in the first set. Trevecca bounched back with a similar 14 kill and .28% kill percentage in the second set. The teams split the next two sets laying the ground work for a fifth and deciding set. Trevecca led early, but KCU rallied and it was a battle tillt he final point. Trevecca held off the Knights for a 15-13 set and match win.
Allison Boe also added 10 killsand 13 digs. Caroline Gay led the team with 29 assists. Kirstn Taylor had a team high three servic aces and 17 digs. Loren Bennett added 13 digs from her libero position.
Game Two
The Trojans produced a team kill percentage of .292 with 29 kills and 11 errors in 96 attempts. TNU set the tone for the match with a impressive run to end the first set. Leading just 12-11, the Trojans outscored the RedHawks 13-2 for a 25-13 victory. In the third and deciding set Trevecca led 10-8 before using a 15-2 run to pull off the win 25-10.
Persephonie Devereaux led the Trojans with 12 Kills and a .588 attack percentage in the final of three games for Trevecca in the Scott Jones Classic. Devereaux also had a block and two block assists. Kristen Johnson continued her strong play with 10 kills, 13 assists, and nine digs. Kirsten Taylor had 10 kills, five digs, and two service aces. Loren Bennett added 13 digs while Delaney Hearne provided some strong serves with four aces and Amy Bottomlee had six kills.
Trevecca's Kristen Johnson had a terric weekend. Johnson, in 11 Sets over three matches, had 39 kills (.316 attack percentage), 38 assists, 26 digs, a block, eight block assists, and four service aces.
Trevecca will host NAIA No. 18 Freed-Hardeman University (1-0) on Thursday at 6 PM and Brescia University (0-2) on Friday at the same time. Both matches can be viewed live at http://tnutrojans.trevecca.edu
