Box Score CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Trevecca baseball team (10-13-1, 3-4-1 TranSouth) managed just four hits in a 6-0 loss at NAIA No. 1 Lee University (34-4-1, 17-1 Southern States)) Tuesday afternoon at Olympic Field.
Nick Howell,
Trae Weiss, Cory Crunk, and
Justin Holland all singled in the loss, as five Lee pitchers combined on the shutout.
The Flames scored an unearned run in the second inning, added a pair of runs in both the fourth and seventh innings, and capped off the scoring with a run in the eighth.
Blake Barber, Corey Davis, James Fowlkes, and Brady Renner paced the Lee attack with two hits apiece. Fowlkes and Edmanuel Rivera drove in two runs apiece for the Flames.
Rob Rowland (3-3) started and took the loss for Trevecca, allowing just the one unearned run on four hits in three innings, with two strikeouts and no walks.
Tyler Vakey and
Justin Dailey combined to pitch the final five innings in relief of Rowland. Kyle Briner (1-0) picked up the victory for the Flames.
The Trojans return home this weekend to host Blue Mountain College (16-12, 6-3 TranSouth). The teams will play a single game Friday at 2 p.m. and a doubleheader Saturday at noon.
