Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MAYFIELD, Ky. - The Trojan softball team (17-9, 8-2 TranSouth) swept Mid-Continent (6-12, 2-10) Tuesday afternoon, 9-4 and 9-3.

Game One

Lauren Baker drove in four runs to lead the Trojans offensively and pitched six innings to pick up the victory in the circle.

Baker (7-3) allowed four unearned runs on seven hits in six innings for the win, and added her first home run of the season, a two-run shot in the second. Natalie Papini pitched the final inning in relief.

Ansley Brantley and Lacey Grimes also added home runs for the Trojans, who scored nine runs on nine hits, including two hits apiece for Brantley and Breanna Zeis.

Trevecca jumped on top early on Baker's first-inning bomb, added a run in the fourth, and put the game away with five runs in the sixth after the Cougars had tied it with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Game Two

Kari Mason drove in four runs on a pair of hits, including an inside-the-park home run, to back a solid outing by Riley Mashburn in the circle.

Mashburn (4-4) allowed three runs, two of them earned, on seven hits in six innings. The senior righthander struck out three while walking just one batter. Natalie Papine pitched a hitless seventh inning to close out the victory for the Trojans.

Mason finished 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Lindsey Stephens, Lauren Baker, Heather Shuler, and Haylee Rogers all added two hits apiece for Trevecca, as the Trojans piled up 13 hits in the victory.
 
This weekend, the Trojans will host NAIA No. 11 Union (24-5, 10-0 TranSouth) Friday at 4 p.m. and NAIA No. 24 Davenport (15-7, 0-0 Wolverine-Hoosier) Saturday at 2 p.m.
