Box Score 2 NASHVILLE – Trevecca (22-13, 5-3 G-MAC) split two matches against Cedarville University (29-6, 7-0 G-MAC) and Central State (0-16, 0-6 G-MAC). The Trojans fell to the Yellow Jackets 23-25, 21-25, 25-19 and 23-25 before defeating the Marauders 25-11, 25-7 and 25-10.

Against Cedarville, TNU was led by Kristen Johnson who recorded a triple-double with 16 kills, 14 assists and 13 digs. Loren Bennett dished out 27 assists while Shelby Sorce paced the Trojan defense with 22 digs.

Cedarville was led by Stephanie Rogers who had a match-high 20 kills hitting an efficient .326. Amanda Bell and Heather Kirkpatrick each had 25 digs for CU while Maddie Anderson handed out a team-high 26 assists.

In the first set, neither team had a lead bigger than two. With the set tied at 20 following an attack error by Cedarville, the Yellow Jackets would go on a 3-0 run courtesy of Amanda Bell (service ace, kill) and a Trojan error. The first set ended in favor of the Yellow Jackets, 25-23.

CU would take set two after another back and forth fight with Trevecca. After falling behind 8-4, the Trojans would fight back to tie the match at 12 following a Johnson kill. Both teams would trade points until Trevecca gained a 21-18 lead. The Trojans would not be able to hold on to that advantage as the Yellow Jackets rallied to win 25-21. Cedarville was aided by four Trojan errors.

Trevecca would earn a set three win 25-19. TNU would lead by as many as eight (21-13) following a Bennett kill. Bennett and senior Jenna Robertson, who was playing in her last home match, each recorded three kills in the set.

Cedarville would close out the match however in the fourth set. It wasn't easy though as the Yellow Jackets trailed 20-17 following an Amy Bottomlee ace.

Rogers led the CU with three kills as they closed the match with an 8-1 run, including the last three points.

Match vs. CENTRAL STATE

Trevecca dominated the Marauders holding them to a -.101 hitting percentage. TNU hit .292 for the match.

Robertson recorded 10 kills while Johnson chipped in with seven. Caroline Gay had a team-high 10 assists while Sorce led with eight digs.

The Marauders were led by Erin McKnight who had six kills while Brein Babbs handed out a team-high seven assists.

In set one, Trevecca jumped out to a 19-9 lead before prevailing 25-11. Johnson and Robertson each had two kills in the set.

The Trojans dominated set two 25-7 as they hit .500 with just one error on 20 swings. The Marauders managed just a -.091 attack percentage.

Trevecca would wrap up the match in set three winning 25-10. TNU raced out to an 11-3 lead following a Robertson kill.

That wraps up the regular season for Trevecca. They'll travel to Cedarville for the G-MAC Conference Tournament Nov. 16 against an opponent to be determined.ÂÂ
