PULASKI, Tenn. – Jenna Robertson and Kristen Johnson combined for 27 kills Thursday night as Trevecca Nazarene University (18-11) defeated Martin Methodist College (7-17) in four sets (25-17, 25-13, 21-25, 25-21).

Robertson added 10 digs and a team-high four block assists. Johnson recorded another triple-double adding 18 assists and 12 digs.

TNU's Loren Bennett handed out 18 assists while Shelby Sorced paced the defense with a match-high 21 digs.  Allison Boe collected 11 digs for the Trojans.

Ya Zhao led the Redhawks with 14 kills, which was tied for the match high. Flavia Costa recorded a double-double for Martin Methodist with 13 kills and 14 digs.  Ashley James paced the Redhawks' defense with 16 digs while Deonyae Whitfield added 15 of her own. 

In the first two sets, the Trojan defense was stifling holding Martin Methodist to a .013 hitting percentage.  Trevecca hit .231 in the first two sets.

Martin Methodist's lone win came in the third set as they hit .379. The final set saw Trevecca reassert itself on the defensive end holding the Redhawks to a .024 hitting percentage.

Trevecca returns to action Oct. 23 as they host Bethel University (10-15) for a 6 p.m. match.
