Box Score HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Trevecca volleyball team (10-8, 4-1 TranSouth) defeated Freed-Hardeman (6-3, 2-2) in impressive fashion Tuesday night, blitzing the Lions in straight sets, 25-19, 25-17, and 25-22.
"I am extremely pleased and proud of the girls for how well they played together tonight," said Head Coach Jayme Crowley. "This is a tough place to play, so for us to come here and get a win is a big accomplishment for this team and should serve as a big confidence boost."
The Trojans produced a balanced attack that finished the night with 40 kills and a .289 attack percentage.
Jenna Robertson led the way with 10 kills and just one error in 15 attempts (.600).
Brittany Eller and
Kirsten Taylor added eight kills apiece, and
Kristen Johnson chipped in with seven.
Setter
Halley Wiggins tallied 24 assists, and added four kills and four digs.
Haley White led Trevecca with nine digs, with Eller and Johnson adding eight apiece.
"My graduate assistant, Kimi Coffey, deserves a lot of credit for tonight's effort," added Coach Crowley. "We gave the team Friday off, and I was out sick Monday, so she ran practice and did a great job of making adjustments with our subs tonight. The team's attitude tonight was tremendous, and it paid off with a big win."
The Trojans are back on the road Thursday, when they play at Lyon College (5-10, 0-4) at 6 p.m.
