Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trojan men's soccer team (2-2-1) dropped a 2-1 decision to Asbury College (4-0-2) Tuesday night at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
The Trojans drew first blood, taking a 1-0 lead in the 29' when Sisco Maciel broke in from the left and blasted a shot on Asbury keeper Dylan Fouts. Fouts made the save, but the rebound was banged home by
Donny Maciel, who had crashed the box on the shot by his brother. The goal was the second of the season for the freshman midfielder.
The score remained 1-0 well into the second half, with the Trojans appearing to be on their way to the victory. But credit the Eagles, who tilted the field and began to really apply the pressure, which paid off in a big way. Midfielder Caleb Griffin scored in the 73' off an assist from Garrett Davis to tie things up, and less than two minutes later Davis picked up his second assist of the night, feeding forward Trent Popp for the game winner.
The Trojans will host Georgetown College (0-3) Friday night at 8 p.m. at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
