Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The #RV Trevecca baseball team (32-19, 16-5 TranSouth) swept a pair of games from Bethel University (22-19-2, 8-13 TranSouth) on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Jackson Field, winning game one 9-8 in eight innings, and then outslugging the Wildcats 10-9 to take the nightcap. The Trojans' eight seniors--Michael Son, Chad Reynolds, BJ Boston, Mitch McClay, Chase Birdwell, Edwin Borbon, Blake Payton, and Caleb Longshore were honored during ceremonies between games.

GAME ONE RECAP
The opener was scoreless through the first three innings, before the Wildcats jumped on top with a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth, helped out by four Trojan errors.

But Trevecca bounced back, scoring four times in the home half of the fifth to tie the game. Borbon and Jordan Foreman had RBI singles in the inning, Borbon scored on a wild pitch, and Trae Weiss doubled home Foreman for the final run of the inning. Bethel broke the tie with a run in the top of the sixth, before the Trojans jumped on top for the first time with four more runs in the sixth to take an 8-5 lead into the seventh inning. Foreman and Matt Tidwell had RBI singles and Trae Weiss smacked a two-run double to account for the Trojan scoring in the inning.

Despite being three outs from a game one victory, the Trojans couldn't close the door in the seventh. Back-to-back singles to start the seventh were followed by a three-run home run to left by Bethel centerfielder Hunter DeBerry to tie the game yet again. That brought an end to starter Craig Stem's day, with Michael Son coming on in relief. Son promptly retired the side to send the game to extra innings.

After the Wildcats failed to score in the top half of the inning, the Trojans finished off the win in their half of the inning. Weiss bunted for a base hit with one out, followed by a single by Matt Tidwell, advancing Weiss to second. Chad Reynolds provided the game-winner, hitting a single to right-centerfield to drive in Weiss with the game-winning run.

Weiss had a big game, going 3-5 with two doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Foreman, Tidwell, and Reynolds all added two hits apiece, with Foreman driving in two and scoring twice.

Son (4-5) picked up the win in relief, pitching two scoreless innings to end the game, allowing just one hit while striking out two. Cade Chambers (0-1) took the loss for Bethel.

GAME TWO RECAP
The second game was another wild affair, with plenty of offense and momentum swings throughout the afternoon.

The Trojans scored twice in the first, on an RBI single by Reynolds and a sacrifice fly by Mitch McClay, but the lead was short-lived, as Wildcat third baseman Chase Pilkenton belted a two-run home run--his second of the day--to tie the game in the second inning.

Trevecca answered with three runs of their own in the second inning to push the lead back to 5-2. Matt Dobbins led off with a single, and scored on Chad McDaniel's double off the wall in left. One out later, Foreman singled home McDaniel, and Foreman later scored on a Chad Reynolds double.

Five runs by the Wildcats in the third chased Trojan starter PJ Francescon, bringing Michael Son out of the bullpen for a second stint of the afternoon. Trevecca got one back in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly by Foreman, and it was a 7-6 Bethel lead heading to the fourth inning. The Wildcats pushed their lead to 8-6 with a run in the fourth, but the Trojans tied it up in the bottom of the inning on a two-run double by Zach Polzin, scoring Reynolds and McClay.

The Trojans were finally able to re-take the lead with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Foreman led off with his second home run of the season to start the rally. After a walk to Weiss, Tidwell smacked a double off the wall to make it 10-8 Trojans heading to the sixth inning. But just as they had done all weekend, the Wildcats continue to battle, scoring what would turn out to be their final run of the day to make it a 10-9 game in the sixth. Caleb Longshore came in to relieve Blake Payton to start the seventh, getting the first two outs, but also allowing a base hit and hitting a batter. With runners on the corners and two outs, Dylan Kuhn came in to close the door, getting a fielder's choice ground ball to Dobbins, who flipped to McDaniel for the final out of the series at second base.

Foreman led the attack, going 2-3 with a home run, a walk, three RBI, and two runs scored. Reynolds went 2-2 with a double, a walk, two RBI, and a run, while McDaniel and Weiss also added two hits apiece.

Payton (3-2) picked up the win, pitching 2.2 innings in relief, giving up two hits and a run, with two strikeouts and a walk. Kuhn picked up his third save of the season.

The Trojans will conclude the regular season with a three-games series at No. 16 Union (33-12, 15-6 TranSouth) April 28-29.
