Box Score DAYTON, Tenn.- The Trojan softball team (4-0) completed a weekend sweep of its games at the Bryan College Invitational with a 4-2 win over Young Harris College (3-5) Saturday morning.
Senior
Karli Rush provided all of the offense, driving in all four Trojan runs on a pair of home runs.
Lauren Baker (2-0) picked up her second win of the weekend, and
Riley Mashburn finished the game to earn the save.
The Trojans jumped on top quickly, scoring three runs in the first inning.
Kelsey Lantrip walked,
Monica West singled, and Rush crushed a 3-run homer over the right center-field fence. Rush added a solo shot in the sixth inning to close out the scoring.
Baker pitched five innings and gave up two unearned runs on two hits, with seven strikeouts and just one walk. Mashburn shut out the Mountain Lions over the final two innings, striking out three while allowing just one hit.
The Trojans now have a week off, before opening their home schedule Saturday, Feb. 26th against Indiana Wesleyan (0-0). Game one of the doubleheader gets underway at 1 p.m.
