Trevecca Races to 107-82 Win Over Fisk

Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Michael France scored 31 points to lead five Trojans in double figures and Trevecca (8-4) cracked the century mark Saturday in a 107-82 win over Fisk University (3-7) in the first annual Holiday Hoops EXAMaganza at the Trojan Fieldhouse.

"Mike really got it going early, which really got the crowd into it," said Trevecca Head Coach Sam Harris. "Once he hit his first couple, you could tell he was feeling it, and when he's on like that it makes us so much better."

Trevecca shot 70% (21-30) in the first half. The team hit 5-6 from three-point range and 12-15 from the foul line.

France was 11-15 from the floor, including 6-10 from three-point range, and made all three of his free throws. The senior from Shelbyville also added three rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Eric Orr notched a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. JP Nyadaro and Marquise Rudolph also added 12 points apiece, and Keith Morris chipped in 10. Marquise Rudolph led the team with seven assists and had a block, two steals, and five rebounds.

"The atmosphere was great today," added Coach Harris. "That's the kind of atmosphere we need in here all the time, and it was good to see the students have fun with everything that was going on today."

The inaugural Holiday Hoops EXAMaganza was a big success, with the 12 Points of Christmas flash mob, a costume contest, games, prizes, Christmas carols, and a reading of "The Night Before Exams" by TNU President Dr. Dan Boone.

For the game, Trevecca shot 60.3% (41-68) from the field, 50% (9-18) from three-point range, and 84.2% (16-19) from the free throw line. Fisk shot 38.2% (29-76) from the floor, 14.3% (3-21) from beyond the arc, and 67.7% (21-31) from the charity stripe. Trevecca topped Fisk 48-35 in rebounding.

"I'm pleased with where we're at right now," added Coach Harris. "We've got a tough one next weekend at Lindsey Wilson, but to go into Christmas with either eight or nine wins, we're right about where I thought we could be. If Mike is doing what he did today, and we're getting inside play from Eric, Keith, and JP, then I think we can pretty good."

Fisk was led in scoring by Cameron Lewis who scored 24. Jewaun Wynn added 17.  The Bulldogs were held to 38% (29-76) shooting.

The Trojans will travel to Columbia, Ky., for a matchup with Lindsey Wilson College (7-3) next Saturday at 2 p.m.
