Martin Methodist Rally Beats Trevecca

PULASKI, Tenn. - The Trojan volleyball team (6-7, 1-2 TranSouth) led early, but fell in five sets to Martin Methodist (5-7, 2-1) on Tuesday.

Trevecca jumped out to a 2-0 lead with 25-23, 25-17 victories. The RedHawks turned the tables with a pair of 25-16 set wins to force the fifth set. Martin Methodist took the final set 15-6 and the game victory.

Brooke Cannon had 33 assists for Trevecca. There were three Trojans with double figures in Kills; Maddie Burford (10), Kristen Johnson (11), and Cassidy Watkins (13). Haley White (11), Shelby Sorce (13) , and Watkins (10) were tops in digs. Julie Dimick had four service aces.

Next up for Trevecca is the TranSouth/Mid-South Volleyball Classic at Cumberland University September 17-18 in Lebanon, Tenn. On Friday, Trevecca will face University of the Cumberlands (3-8) at 1 p.m. and University of Rio Grande (3-4) at 7 p.m. Saturday's schedule pits the Trojans against Shawnee State (9-5) at 1 p.m. and St. Catharine (2-13) at 7 p.m.

Trevecca's next home match is September 21 when Cumberland University visits at 6 p.m.
