Win for 15th Time in Last 17 Games

Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca (17-7) defeated Ohio Domincan (3-15) 11-8 and 4-3 to complete a three-game sweep of the Panthers. The Trojans have won 15 of their last 17 games.

Game One:  Trevecca continued their habit of starting fast with a run in the first and five in the second. Ohio Dominican scored one in the second and two in the third. Trevecca led 6-3 heading into the fourth when they scored three more for a 9-3 advantage. The Panthers would score five in the sixth making it a one-run (9-8) game. Trevecca record two more run in the sixth for an 11-8 advantage and the final score.

Michael Son (4-0) started and picked up the win with five innings of work. Son allowed nine hits, three runs, three walks, and had three strike outs. After Jeff Hughes and Chris Sutherland combined for an inning of work, Jerry Young came in for his fourth save of the year. Drew McGlone (1-3) took the loss for ODU. Trevecca collected 11 hits and had no errors while ODU had 11 hits and two errors.

The Trojans had three extra base hits. Trey Morris led the way going 2-5 with a run scored, five RBI, a double, and a home run. Trae Weiss was 3-4 with three runs scored, three RBI, and a triple. Brad Gooch was 2-3 with a run scored, a walk, and a stolen base. Edwin Borbon was 1-3 with a walk, a run scored, RBI, and two stolen bases.

Game Two:  Trevecca scored a run in the first and second inning before adding two in the third. ODU scored a run in the third for a 4-1 TNU lead. The Panthers made it interesting with a run in the fifth and sixth inning to make it a 4-3 game. In the seventh, ODU loaded the bases with one out. Caleb Longshore came in and kept the Panters from scoring, securing the win for Trevecca.

Trevecca had eight hits and two errors. Ohio Dominican had nine hits and no errors.

Blake Payton (2-1) picked up the win with six innings of work. Payton allowed eight hits, three runs, and four walks while striking out six. Longshore picked up his first save of the year.

Matt Tidwell stayed hot with a 2-4 effort. Tidwell produced two runs and hit a pair of doubles. Brad Gooch was 2-2 with a run scored, an RBI, a walk, and a home run. Luke Fennell was 1-2 with a triple.

Trevecca will hit the road all of next week. The Trojans will visit No. 5 Lee University (22-7) on Tuesday for a double-header starting at 3 p.m. Trevecca will start the conference season with a weekend series at Bethel University (17-1-1) with a 2 p.m. game on Friday.
