Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trojan volleyball team (13-17, 4-7 TranSouth) lost for the eighth time in their last nine matches, falling in straight sets to Freed-Hardeman (8-7, 7-3 TranSouth) Tuesday night at Moore Gym, 21-25, 20-25, 20-25.
Freed won a back-and-forth game one 25-21, and jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead early in game two. But the Trojans battled back, closing to within one point on several occasions, but the Lions held on for the 25-20 win. Game three was close early, with the Trojans taking an early 11-9 lead. But following a Lion timeout, Freed-Hardeman stormed back to take the lead on its way to the 25-20 clincher.
Kristen Johnson and
Cassidy Watkins had eight kills apiece, with Watkins adding 14 digs.
Brooke Cannon had 20 assists and 10 digs, while Johnson added four assists and three digs.
The Trojans travel to Mayfield, Ky. to take on Mid-Continent (5-23, 0-11 TranSouth) Thursday night at 6 p.m.
