Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NAIA No. 20 Trevecca (14-5, 5-1 TSAC) visited crosstown rival Fisk University (0-13) 86-77 on Monday.
Fisk
took a 12-7 lead to open the game, but the Trojans rallied to take a
18-15 lead, their first of the game with 10 minutes to go in the first
half. After a brief Fisk lead, the Trojans led 32-31. Keith Morris led
Trevecca with 10 points.
In
the second half Trevecca slowly built their lead and took their first
double-digit lead at 68-58 with nine minutes remaining. The lead grew
to 12 (70-58) for the first time at 4:50 remaining. Trevecca saw Fisk
cut into the Trojan lead to 77-72, but the Trojans pulled away again
and won 86-77.
This
is the 12th meeting between Trevecca and Fisk in men's basketball. The
Trojans hold a 9-3 advantage in the series. Trevecca has won the last
three meetings. The last meeting was a 99-77 win for Trevecca December
7, 2007. Fisk last won 92-89 in overtime at Fisk in 1999.
Trevecca
will travel to Jackson, Tenn. to face No. 15 Union University (15-6,
6-1 TSAC) on Thursday, January 28 at 8 p.m. Union and Trevecca each
have one loss in conference play and are tied for the overall
conference lead.
