the two-day Cumberland Classic.Â

On Friday
the
Trojans defeated Mountain State University (5-6) 25-12, 25-16, 25-13 and
Faulkner University (0-11) 25-22, 25-18, 25-12 Â
Against the Cougars of Mountain
State the Trojans jumped out to a 25-12 game one score and never looked
back. In
that first game Trevecca led 10-6 and rolled off a 9-2 run to take a
commanding 19-8 lead. The match was never in danger after that point.
Kaley Ward
and Jennifer Peterson led the Trojan attack. Ward had eight kills,
three aces, and four blocks. Peterson had eight kills, two aces, and
two blocks.
Brooke Cannon had a team high 26 assists and Kimi Coffey led the team
with 12 digs.Â
Against Faulkner the Trojans saw
the winless team put up a fight through the first two games. Faulkner
led 14-13 in the first game, but Trevecca's 8-2 run put them up 21-15.
The second game was close as well, but Faulkner never held a lead after
they held a brief 6-5 advantage. Trevecca took control of the third
game with a 15-5 edge. Kaley Ward was a dominate force for the Trojans
with 11 kills and a 78% attack percentage. Ward produced 11 kills in 14
attempts and had no errors. Ward also had two service aces and two
digs. Teegan Hunziker also had a 11 kills, two aces, and 10 digs.
Brooke Cannon had 32 set assists, two aces, and eight digs. Jessica
Hood and Kimi Coffey each had 12 digs. Hood had three service aces.

Saturday the Trojans play early taking on University of Rio
Grande (5-4) at 9 a.m. and concluding the classic
playing Lindsey Wilson College (2-6) at 1 p.m.

Trevecca
will jump back into conference play next week. Still
on the road TNU visits upstart Bethel University (7-1, 4-1) on Tuesday
at 7 p.m. before making the trip to Batesville, Ark. on Saturday,
September 25
to take on Lyon College (4-10, 0-1) at 11 a.m.) and NCAA D2 Harding
University (12-2) at 1 p.m..
