Pulaski, Tenn. - The Trojans (7-5, 2-1) returned to conference play tonight playing at Martin Methodist (3-4,
1-3). The Trojans came out on top 3-1 with a 21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20 win.
The RedHawks are usually tough, but especially so at home. Martin
Methodist flexed its home court advantage taking the first game 25-21.
After losing in three straight to Georgetown on Saturday in Kentucky
and then again on the road Tuesday at Freed-Hardeman, the Trojans had
lost seven games in a row. The team bounced back and won the next three
to get a significant road win in conference play. Now the team heads to
the Cumberland Tournament this weekend in Lebanon with an uptick.
ÂÂ
Coach Crowley was pleased with the effort tonight in
Pulaski, "We gritted out this win with a blue collar effort. We didn't play
well on Tuesday and we weren't pleased with that effort. As a result our
practice yesterday was tough and demanding."
ÂÂ
"We played as a team, played smart, and followed the
scouting report. This week was tough with adversity over the weekend where we
played some good completion without our full squad and then on Tuesday we didn't
play well on the road. Here we are again on the road playing a very challenging
team."
