Dunn Goes to 12-0, Trojans Get Win #33

JACKSON, Tenn. - NAIA #26 Trevecca (33-19, 14-5 TranSouth) defeated Union University (30-17, 8-10) by the score of 10-0 in the first game of a three-game conference series at Fesmire Field in Jackson.Game two was interrupted by rain in the top of the fifth. Union is leading 3-0. The game will resume at Noon on Friday. Trevecca has a runner on first with one out. Neither team scored in game one until the Trojans broke the game open with a 8-run fourth inning. Trevecca added two more in the fifth to force the mercy rule into play. Tim Dunn (12-0) picked up another win with five complete innings of work. He allowed just two hits, two walks, and struck out two. Brad Davis (5-4) took the loss with four innings of work. Davis allowed eight runs and 11 hits and struck out one.
 
Nathan Wright was 1-for-3 with four RBI, a triple, and a run scored. Chris Lowe was 2-for-4 with a run scored, a stolen base, and two RBI. Cody Heggie was 2-for-3 with a RBI and a double. Ross Muirhead was 2-for-3 w ith a run scored, a RBI, and a triple. Aaron Bree added a third triple in the game for the Trojans. Bree was 2-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBI.
 
Trevecca scored 10 runs on 14 hits and had one error. Union had two hits.
 
In game two, the Trojans are trailing 3-0, but have Matt Tidwell on first and only one out in the top of the fifth inning. Wesley Griggs is on the mound for the Trojans. He pitched four innings and allowed three runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
