- NAIA No. 20 Trevecca (24-13, 7-1 TranSouth) took game two of a three games series with
Bethel College
(11-18, 3-7 TranSouth) 8-6.

Trevecca posted four runs in the second inning. All the damage came
with two outs in the inning and the bases empty. A two-out walk to Ross
Muirhead started the rally. Marty Parks, and then Chris Lowe singled.
Muirhead scored on Parks single and then Brian Dirheimer doubled to
drive in Parks and Lowe. Blair Haskins, running for Dirheimer, scored
when Cody Heggie doubled. Bethel scored a run in the third and Trevecca
pushed across a run in the fifth. Both teams scored three in the sixth
to put Trevecca ahead 8-4. BC scored two in the seventh to make the
final 8-6. Trevecca scored eight runs on 10 hits and had one error.
Bethel scored six runs on nine hits and didn't have an error.

Griggs (4-6) got the win with 5.1 innings pitched. He allowed seven
hits, four walks, four runs, and had four strike outs. Drew Durossette
came in and pitched 1.1 innings and allowed two runs on two hits and
two walks. Durossette had two strike outs. Ryan Whitson (1) picked up
his first save of the year with a third of an inning of work. Ryan
Newman (2-4) took the loss going 5.1 innings and allowing seven runs on
nine hits and four walks. He struck out six. Billy Keck pitched the
final two-thirds of an inning in relief.

Lowe was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Brian Dirheimer was 2-for-2 with
a double, three RBI and two walks. Ross Muirhead was 2-for-2 with a
home run, two runs scored, two RBI and a walk. .
