Box Score ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The Trevecca softball team (7-6) started day two of the Gulf Coast Invitational with 10-2 loss to No. 15 Shorter College (10-5).

The Eagles jumped out front with a run in the first, three in the second and six in the third. Trevecca scored two in the top of the fifth, but couldn't avoid the 8-run rule being put into effect and the game was shortened to just five innings. The SC scored their 10 runs on nine hits and had two errors. The Trojans aided the Eagles effort with three errors in the field. Trevecca ha six hits on the afternoon.

Charlsie Broome was 3-for-3 for the Eagles and added two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI. Tiffany Adams was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI. TNU's Megan Suggs was 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and a RBI. Chelsea Bailey keeps her streak alive with a 1-for-3 performance.

Libby Munson (4-2) pitched all five innings for the win. The Eagle allowed two runs, one earned on six hits and a walk. She added six strikeouts. Riley Mashburn (1-3) started for the Trojans and allowed nine hits and a walk and was on the hook for eight of the 10 runs allowed during her 2.2 innings pitched. Shelby Mashburn came on for the final 1.1 innings and was perfect and had a strikeout.

The Trojans will wrap up play in the Gulf Coast Invitational against Oklahoma Christian (12-6) on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. The Eagles are receiving votes for the NAIA Top 25.
